"WELCOME TO JOHNSON COUNTY AND ARKANSAS" Program

The Arkansas Department of Parks & Tourism and the Arkansas Hospitality Association have partnered with state tourism organizations and Chambers of Commerce to create a hospitality-focused community program for 2009 and beyond called "Welcome to Arkansas".

The Goals:

• To increase customers' satisfaction
• To better inform businesses and industries on local attractions
• Improve customer service

By arming frontline personnel with messages about their region, we can encourage guests to spend more time and money in our area. The incentive-based program can help identify exemplary employees whose actions impact their businesses' bottom lines every day.

Participants will receive:

• "Welcome to Arkansas" buttons from the state
• Laminated area attractions cards from the state (covers a 25 mile radius) and laminated local area attraction cards from the Clarksville-Johnson County Chamber of Commerce
• Access to Arkansas video content
• Recognition of outstanding employees showing exemplary hospitality
• Employee of the Month will receive a certificate from the Chamber and will be entered in the state drawing at the Governor's Conference on Tourism in 2010
• An annual local employee will be drawn from all monthly local winners
• All local employees of the month will be recognized in the Chamber Express (the Chamber newsletter) with the monthly overall winner
• All local employee of the month winners will be entered in an annual drawing for grand prize

How it Works:

Through these free materials and participation, we hope to help our community unite efforts to attract and retain tourist and to bring more tax dollars to Johnson County.

Incentive Program:

What we will require of organizations Manager/Owner:

• Get the cards and lapel pins to their front line people
• Provide additional support to employees as needed
• Provide nomination for top performing employee to the chamber by the 25th of each month for drawing
• Provide item/gift certificate for annual grand prize drawing
