The
world we live in has changed so much in
the last few years it's hard to keep up.
One of the commercials running on
television by Microsoft says that
THREE PEOPLE buy a
personal computer every three
seconds. It seems that
EVERYONE is getting their own
web page. Newspapers in most major cities
and even towns like Clarksville, Paris,
and Russellville have a web site. Radio
stations have their own space on the web.
You may wonder what this has to do with
your business. For some folks that move
out of an area it's a great way to keep up
with what's going on back home. For the
sports fan....well it's unbelievable. You
can check on the Razorbacks from any state
in the U.S. and even overseas. You can
listen to "Drive-Time" sports in the
afternoon from anywhere. BUT, even
more important to you, people are moving
into a growing area like Johnson County by
leaps and bounds. According to the
Associated Press Clarksville grew 22.2%
between 1990 and 1998. Lamar grew 17.7%,
Hartman grew 13.1, and Knoxville 7.2%.
WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT?
With
all the moving going on doesn't it make
sense to let people know about your
business before they move into Johnson
County. A commercial web site for your
business can cost anywhere from a couple
of hundred dollars to few thousand. The
Clarksville-Johnson County Chamber of
Commerce has one member that designs
commercial websites;
