The
Stephens Gallery
|
The
aim of art is to represent not the outward appearance
of things,
but their inward significance. Aristotle
|
Housed
in the University's Walton Fine Arts Center,
the Stephens Gallery provides the Ozarks community
and its guests a magnificent showplace for their creations.
The 1500 square feet of the gallery provide ample
wall and floor space in which to exhibit works in
a variety of artistic mediums and styles, while the
arched windows on the east floods the display area
with a soft, pleasing light.
Two permanent collections donated to the University
are on display in the gallery, the Pfeffer Collection
and the Arch H. Gould Collection.
For gallery hours or other inquiries, email the Ozarks
Humanities and Fine Arts Division or telephone them
at (479) 979-1439. |

The
Walton Arts and Ideas Series 2008-2009
"New Horizons"
"The
real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new landscapes,
but in having new eyes."
- Marcel Proust
This year, the University of the Ozarks' Walton Arts and
Ideas Series invites you to join us as we look at art
forms and topics of discussion with a fresh perspective
and a different point of view. From a string quartet with
a non-traditional sound to a visiting fellow who has dedicated
himself to championing the cause of persecuted thinkers
and scholars around the world, this season is truly dedicated
to the new, the unusual, and the exciting. Whether we're
looking at a new artist or investigating an old question
from a new angle, we invite you to come along with us
on this voyage of discovery.

founded in the fall of 2002 and is growing by leaps
and bounds. Our curriculum spans three levels of theatre
education, beginning with Drama I, then on to Acting
or Technical Theatre, and ultimately to Production
Class.
Panther Theatre produces at least three shows per
year: Â a fall main stage, a spring main stage,
and a spring one-act children's play performed by
our Drama I classes. Â
Panther Theatre is Troupe #6789 of the International
Thespian Society, a theatre honors program that is
recognized world wide. Unique and exciting things
are happening within the innovative Panther Theatre
