Light & Water Company
The Clarksville
Light & Water Company (CLW) belongs to the
people of Clarksville. They provide electricity,
water, and sewer treatment services for its customers
at a reasonable cost.
CLW was set up in its present form in 1947, when
the old improvement districts paid off. At that
time the City Council appointed a Commission to
act as an agency of the City, charged with the
responsibility of administering the Light and
Water Company in the best interest of the people
of Clarksville.
The CLW Company presently serves approximately
4000 customers. Additionally, CLW treats and supplies
water for the cities of Lamar, Coal Hill, and
Hartman, as well as the Horsehead, Ludwig, and
East Johnson County water associations.

use. The Water Supply-Spadra Creek and Piney Bay
supply water for Clarksville, Lamar, Hartman,
Knoxville and other water associations 'in Johnson
County.
