    The Johnson County Regional Medical Center provides quality health care in a supportive environment. JCRMC is a not-for-profit institution and all reserves in excess of expenses are reinvested in enhanced health care for our community. In recent years, several million dollars in new services and equipment have been added, including a 35,000 sq ft, 80-bed expansion that houses a state of the art emergency department, new radiology facilities, five surgery suites and a new registration area. Other recent additions include a helical CT, on-site MRI, Nuclear Medicine, and sophisticated laparoscopic surgery procedures.  This progress was accomplished while maintaining some of the lowest fees in Arkansas. Although these services are not uncommon, they are not typically found in hospitals our size. A 9,000 sq ft Inpatient Physical Rehabilitation Unit is also part of our continuous work towards providing our community with the best possible health care.

  • Taxes

    Real Estate and Personal Property Tax

    The state has no property tax, but taxes on property are levied annually by cities and counties. Taking 20 percent of the market value arrives at the assessed value of real and personal property. Current tax rates are as follows:

    Cost of Living

    Compared to the rest of the country, Clarksville's cost of living is 20.2% lower than the U.S. average. In 2011, Southern Business and Development magazine noted "Arkansas's Rural Regions Fared Better than any Southern State in Recent Recession" going on to say "Why are Arkansas's rural areas faring so much better than just about all of the states in South? There is no one answer to that question, yet business retention has to be a factor."
