The format of the upcomin
g event is a party ambiance allowing guests the opportunity to socialize. Dining will be in a buffet setting with a menu that includes a variety of tempting delicacies that will be presented throughout the evening.


Awards will also be presented in the following categories:

Community Pride

An individual or an organization that is a Chamber member who has contributed to the beautification of the county and/or has contributed to the enhancement of the quality of life of citizens of Johnson County.

Small Business of the Year

A business with no more than 25 employees that has contributed to the growth and betterment of Johnson County through their involvement in the Chamber and other civic/governmental organizations.

Corporate Business of the Year

A Business with over 25 employees that has contributed to the growth and betterment of Johnson County through their involvement in the Chamber and other Civic/governmental organizations.

Community Volunteer of the Year

An individual who has volunteered as chairperson and served committees established by the Chamber. The recipient should also serve on other local/state national organizations that address the enhancement of quality of life issues in Johnson County.

Chamber Member of the Year

An individual who has served in a volunteer leadership capacity for the Chamber; serving on the board, chairing and serving on committees, attending monthly meetings, and a visible representative in Johnson County and Arkansas.

Pillar of Progress/Lifetime Achievement

A Chamber member that possesses leadership qualities whose outstanding actions over a period of years has enhanced the quality of life of the citizens of Johnson County. The individual should also possess qualities that include: honesty, integrity and the respect of the community.

Ambassadors Award

Will be presented to the Chamber Ambassador's Club member who has received the most points in accordance with the club rules.

Educator of the Year and Youth of the Year

Awards will be presented in both categories in all Johnson County School Districts and to the University where nominations are received.


Tickets to the banquet are $30.00 and are available at the Clarksville-Johnson County Chamber of Commerce office starting February 1st. For more information on the banquet or awards criteria/procedures please call (479) 754-2340.

This class normally cost $75.00, Chamber members and senior citizens will receive an additional 10% Discount. Cost includes registration, materials, instructor and refreshments. A Certificate of Completion will be provided at the end of the class. Fee must be paid in advance.
Space is limited to 10 participants.

University of the Ozarks ensembles set 2008 Spring Tour

The University of the Ozarks Chorale and music ensembles will perform at 16 churches and retirement villages in four states as part of their 2008 Spring Concert tour.




U of O Assistant Professor of Music Dr. G. Mikael Lindstrom will direct the Ozarks Chorale, Chamber Singers and University Ringers during their tour of Arkansas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Texas. Jeanine Myers, an adjunct professor of math at Ozarks, is serving as pianist and rehearsal accompanist during the tour, and Dawn Scarborough, director of church relations at Ozarks, will serve as tour organizer.
The 2008 Spring Tour will begin with a performance at Munger Chapel on the U of O campus on March 4 and a performance during the Sunday morning worship service at First Presbyterian Church in Clarksville on Sunday, March 9. The concert series will include a six-day, 10-performance bus tour of churches and retirement communities in Arkansas, Louisiana, Texas and Oklahoma from March 14-19.

Among the selections the groups are expected to perform are:
Thanks be to God, Lift Thine Eyes, HeTthat Shall Endure to the End, Come Where My Love Lies Dreaming, Ev'ry Time I Feel the Spirit, When I Fall in Love, Muié Renera, Sing Me to Heaven, Meditation on Psalm 121, I Sing to the Almighty Power of God and Holy Spirit, Gift of God.

The public is invited to attend any of these concerts.
